1. How old do I have to be to rent a motorcycle?

You must be at least 21 years old to rent a motorcycle from Motorcycle4Rent in Romania and posses a valid driver’s license fit for the motorcycle you are renting; with A2 or restricted driver’s licenses you can drive a motorcycle up to 35kW.

2. What is your fuel policy?

Yes, we can store your luggage at our office while you are enjoying the ride.

4. Could I use the motorcycle rented from Motorcycle4Rent outside Romania?

Yes, this is possible. You should contact us to confirm your details, countries and to prepare additional documents, if required.

5. When should I reserve a motorcycle?

For the summer months you should really book nearly a year in advance, to be sure we have available the motorcycle you wish. For the rest of the year, 6 months advance should be sufficient. Last minute rentals are also possible, based on availability. Groups of 3 or more bikes should be booked with at least 6 months advance.

6. Are all motorcycles equipped with luggage system?

Yes, all motorcycles are equipped with top and side cases (usually 37 liters side cases and 37/42 liters top case).

7. Do I need to bring my helmet and jacket?

The motorcycle rental does not include riding equipment. We also have rental riding gear (helmet, jacket, gloves) upon request.

8. How do I reserve and book a motorcycle?

On the website, go to the Book Now section and fill in the form; we will answer shortly with the availability, price and payment details. Your booking is confirmed once the advance payment is received by us.

9. How do I pay for the motorcycle rental?

To confirm your booking, you have to pay an advance payment of 30% of the total price (you can pay by card, based on the payment link we will send or by bank transfer). The rest of the amount is due 30 days before rental start.

10. What is my liability for damages and theft on the rented motorcycle?

Please read the Terms & Conditions.

11. How is the warranty deposit taken?

Motorcycle4Rent will freeze the entire amount of the warranty deposit on a debit or credit card on rental day start. Please make sure you have enough funds to cover this. Don’t count on this sum during your ride as this is held and unavailable for you.

IMPORTANT! make sure that your bank and credit card company know that you are coming to Romania and that the damage deposit will be going through. This saves a lot of time and expensive overseas calls when collecting the bike.

If the damage deposit is not authorized, the rented motorcycle will under no circumstance be handed over to the customer. Motorcycle4Rent will consider this as a last-minute cancellation.

12. When will the warranty deposit be released?

Upon return of the motorcycle, Motorcycle4Rent reserves a period of up to two (2) business days to conduct a thorough inspection of the motorcycle, after which the warranty deposit will be released, if the motorcycle is returned in the same conditions as it was when it left the rental. If there are damages, the motorcycle will be transferred to an authorized service center for a professional evaluation and, based on its evaluation, Motorcycle4Rent will retain from the warranty deposit the cost for repaid / damaged parts replacement, within 5 business days from the return of the motorcycle.

IMPORTANT: some credit card companies do not allow frozen amounts to be used for the entire month in which they were taken, even if Motorcycle4Rent releases them.

All rented motorcycle receive regular official BMW servicing. However, in the unlikely case of mechanical failure, Motorcycle4Rent will provide a replacement bike, if this is available. In the event a replacement bike is not available, Motorcycle4Rent will refund all the rental days which weren’t used and give you assistance in getting hold of other means of transportation to let you carry on your journey.

14. What happens if I crash the rental bike?

If you crash your rented bike, the bike will be transported to the nearest garage by the road side assistance, included in the price of the rental. The damage to the motorcycle will be assessed by the local garage which will do the repair, if possible. The bill for the repair will have to be paid by the renter. If the bike cannot be repaired, then your journey is over. No refund will be given on missed rental days and the cost of the transportation of the damaged motorcycle back to the rental station in Bucharest of origin will be added to the repair bill.

15. Should I be concerned about traffic? We hear that drivers in Romania are crazy 🙂

There is a lot of traffic in bigger cities, so start your trip early in the morning. Avoid week ends on well-known mountain passes, since there are a lot of tourists. Drivers are generally aware of motorcyclists and most of them will make way for you (lane splitting is generally tolerated). Romanian drivers usually drive a bit above the limit, the safest way it to ride in line with the traffic.

16. Do I need to wear a helmet or other protections?

Helmets are mandatory by law in Romania and all parts of Europe. It is essential that you bring one with you. Motorcycle4Rent can also supply a rental helmet, but you will need to book one in advance specifying the size.

Motorcycle4Rent also strongly recommends you ride with motorcycle boots, jackets & pants with protections and gloves. Touring bikes are heavy. Even a drop in the car park could prevent you from continuing your ride. Imagine a bruised elbow or a swollen ankle. Motorcycle4Rent can also supply rental jackets and gloves, but you will need to book them in advance specifying the size.

17. What if I need medical assistance?

In case of need, please call the emergency number 112. Emergency medical staff throughout Romania are well trained to cope with accident injuries or other medical problems. If this is the case and there is a need, you will be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital and treated accordingly. The bike will be taken care of by Motorcycle4Rent staff.

Medical Insurance is strongly recommended. Motorcycle4Rent does not cater for this, you should source independently.

First aid is free and guaranteed to anyone, even helicopter transportation.
